This is such a classic encapsulation of Hasan and his chat.
For one, it's incredible that this is supposed to be his number one issue, yet he hasn’t really considered how to communicate the policy itself. I'm not even sure he cares about policy to begin with. Remember when Ethan asked him to explain how hiring would work under socialism and he completely choked?
Second, it points to how, for many of these people, socialism isn't so much a political program as an amorphous ideal—shaped however necessary to give them room to attack or deflect. This is why it's so hard to pin them down on something like the DSA charter: even their written goals aren't serious.
And third, his chat is split: half are true believers furious that he doesn't care enough to communicate the actual doctrine, and half are "vibe socialists" who couldn't define socialism if you paid them.
