I just saw a TikTok where a man was praying over his newborn daughter. His prayer went something like this..

"Lord, I pray for her to be modest in what she wears, that she would save herself for marriage, that she would not walk around flaunting her body, but that she would be a sweet, beautiful, young, modest girl."

Again, he is talking about a baby girl, A BABY really

Purity culture starts before girls can even talk, before they can even walk.
nd just like I've said before, modesty nd purity culture do the opposite of what they're supposedly meant to do.

they center the female body in a sexual way from the very beginning, they don't protect the female body from sexualization or assault...for real

Fanon said the same thing in The Wretched of the Earth. If people are not politically educated to understand the purpose of a bridge, then they should continue swimming across or using boats. He was saying that development needs to be put in people's brains through political education, not parachuted from above, so that by the time the infrastructure is built, they feel responsible for it and use it for the purpose intended.
