@nafragous And there is I Want To Be a Wall, which follows an asexual woman in a lavender marriage to a gay man as they learn what their relationship means to them. Keep in mind the term's meaning in Japan covers what we'd call aroace, and they have another word for alloromantic aces

@nafragous Also if you haven't read all of Claire Kann's catalogue, you should. People tend to talk about Let's Talk About Love only, but she hasn't stopped writing ace books and her craft has gotten way better, too.

@nafragous Also there is some manga I've loved. One is called Is Love the Answer - about a girl freshly into colleague who's ace/aro-spec and has to question how amatonormativity shapes her life.

Also the amount of criticism I've seen abt Loveless that boils down to "she's aroace and sex-repulsed and I don't want people to assume we're all like that". Obv not all criticisms towards it are informed by internalised aphobia but that sentiment was *strong* when it came out.

You know how some writers are so afraid of depicting lesbians as stereotypically "mannish", so they completely erase butches from their stories? I think some aces are doing something similar with sex-repulsed and aroace rep.

Maybe it betrays some gap in my own reading, but the majority of ace rep I've encountered in fiction has been in the sex-favourable to sex-neutral part of the spectrum. I'd welcoming any recs for sex-repulsed ace books that aren't Alice Oseman's Loveless (we all know that one).
