Some things take shape quietly.
A lot of The Celluloid Lounge has lived in conversations, notebooks and plans.
This week, a few of those things start becoming a little more real.
Nothing to announce yet.
Before we were where we are now, there were pages like these.
Pop-ups. Equipment rentals. Popcorn machines. Construction. Funding. A lot of questions.
A peek inside the Founder’s Notes — where TCL has been figured out in real time.
The path changed.
The reason didn’t.

Just want to give a huge thanks to @teefury Thought these were lost in the void. Their customer service was able to find the package and have them delivered to us. #Obsession#FreakyNikki
The movie ends. The credits roll. The lights come up.
For most theaters, the night ends there.
At The Celluloid Lounge, it’s just beginning.
Moviegoing is about more than the film. It’s about conversation, connection, and what happens after the credits.

Some movies are still looking for their audience.
The strange ones. The overlooked ones. The old ones you never got to see theatrically. The indies that just need the right room.
There should be a place for those movies—and the people who want to experience them together.

I caught an advance screening of It Ends this past Monday and loved it.
Strange, funny, unsettling, existential — and very much its own thing.
It reinforced something I think about constantly with The Celluloid Lounge:
The movie matters.
But so does the room around it.
It Ends opens today. Seek it out.

Long before The Celluloid Lounge had a name, I knew what it felt like to see something I helped create appear on a theater screen.
Experiences like this shaped what TCL is becoming: a place built around films, filmmakers, audiences, and the conversations that follow.

We’re building a movie theater.
But the building doesn’t have to be the beginning.
The experience, programming, and community can begin wherever people gather around films worth experiencing together.
TCL doesn’t need walls to live.
