RE: Celtics' Post Jaylen Brown Plans
"The Celtics are still open to making a trade, but they’re viewing the assignment as building a roster to support Tatum, not to bring in another star to split shots with them. Forget Trey Murphy, the targets are more likely to be Herb Jones, Keldon Johnson or a player of that range." - @SeanDeveney
Cedric Maxwell gives his take on why Jaylen Brown was traded:
“Jaylen Brown is at the height of his powers right now…He was an MVP candidate…words are being said by, I don’t know who, but words are being said by somebody out there that he wasn’t a good teammate.”
"There is animosity, at the very least. ... I find it hard to believe that Jaylen Brown would have been traded if Jayson Tatum would have [said something]."

Averaged more turnovers than assists, was a -9.2 per 100 possessions in the series. Got outplayed by Paul George. Fumbled the last 4 minutes of game 7.
@TA1297 Craziest thing is that the eye test and analytics tell us the same thing. Can’t create for others, turnover heavy, decent scorer on high volume.
Don’t think Tatum had any input in the trade. Think things ran their course and the FO realized Brown at his salary and due for an extension was not helping the team.

@JalensStepBack3 Just because a player’s team beats them head to head does not mean that player is better than the other. Cade was all nba 1st team. Kawhi was all nba 2nd team. Prior to the injury Tatum was all nba 1st team 4 seasons in a row. Giannis same situation but for 7 seasons in a row.
I believe Derrick White will only benefit from the Brown trade. I think White’s regression in efficiency last season is due to playing with Brown who doesn’t have nearly the gravity or playmaking that Tatum has to free up and find shooters.
Danny Green says the Boston Celtics are going to be a play-in team next season:
“They took two steps back, bro. This was a bad move. They’re not contenders. I’m serious. I’ll give them a top six seed. They’ll get a top 6 seed but they’re contenders.”

@JalensStepBack3 Brunson had a true shooting % of 53.6 in the finals (not good). He was spectacular in game 5. Not taking that away from him but he’s comfortably behind Giannis, Tatum, Kawhi. Cade is pick and choose imo.
@BBB8421 White had more responsibility in last season’s offense which I think tanked his efficiency to begin with. The last season he played with Tatum (24-25) he attempted 251 “wide open” 3-pointers at 43%. Last season he attempted 223 at 34.1%. Improved spacing next season will help.
@yellow_sub99 PG is easily a #2, can create his own shot, efficient scorer, ability to be a playmaker. Will probably average around 18 on solid shooting splits.
@Celtics_PRam Think they like Sam, but I do see a world where Brad moves on from him for some draft capital. Roster is deep enough to not need him. I like the upside in Hugo, RHJ, Walsh.
I’ll say this, not only is PG a better fit on this Celtics team than JB, he’s a more polished, more efficient and smarter player. My only gripe I have is his age.
