I knew a professor with a book that was falling to pieces, literally the hardback front cover was detached, and the book was printed before the 20s, I always wonder about the hands it passed through and the stories they could tell #writerslife#writingcommunity#books
It seems like you guys enjoyed the throwback to my old Scandinavian school of magical arts project. So here is one of the other members of the faculty- Kari "Mannevond" Sigfridsdottir. She is a professor of Charms and Curses.✨

@Scoutdwriter Fair, I just don’t want fast writers to think there’s something wrong with them or their work is inherently inferior bc they write fast. A lot of people do look down on prolific writers and assume their work is lesser bc of speed.
@Scoutdwriter Short stories are great, but they’re not for everyone and a different market than novels. Plenty of writers can ‘bash out’ a new 80k novel in less than 6 months without sacrificing quality. It’s not realistic for everyone, but that doesn’t mean it’s unrealistic for some.
@almenard16 But it’s not as deep line by line or thorough just the key issues and biggest problems. That will save you money while still getting you that feedback in a big story way. I haven’t used this service personally but I have seen it offered, so I think it’s worth considering
@almenard16 I second everyone saying to find cps or betas, start there first, then once you’ve gotten that feedback and discarded or applied as needed and you still feel you need more but money is the problem, look for an editor who does ms critique where they read and give you feedback
@camonks1 Also, I’ve also heard and understood this advice as you’re batching them 3 releases in a short time span then x amount of months before you do it again. But there are plenty of people who put out a book a month and kudos to them.
@camonks1 But just because someone is doesn’t mean their stuff is bad. Rapid release is perfectly valid strategy to try, it may not work for you while it does others. There’s a lot of factors at play.
@ElenaShelest There’s a lot of creativity to be found in working within expectations and finding your own story and voice in that. Sci fi Cinderella, modern Snow White, steampunk rapunzel, how do you translate those elements while still keeping the heart of the story? They’re not for everyone
