It’s interesting reading all the pundits (both foreign and domestic) criticizing the rescue of the two F-15E crew members in Iran.

​While they concede that 'it’s good' the crew was rescued, they immediately pivot to the financial cost and the equipment lost, destroyed, or damaged... 'just to rescue two airmen.' Frankly, that talk makes me sick, but it also makes me incredibly proud of our nation.

​I explained to my spouse and her family (who are from Mexico) that the U.S. does not leave anyone behind. The military will literally halt all other operations in an area and diverted every available asset—air, ground, sea, and space—to rescue a single service member.

​She replied, 'That is a powerful motivator knowing that if something happens, your brothers and sisters in arms are coming for you.'

​I honestly believe that most of our country, and much of the world, doesn't truly grasp that. It is inconceivable to the critics that there is no expense too high to rescue or retrieve one of our own
