**MONDAY MATTERS** Some wounds are transformative. As Jesus moves toward Jerusalem and the cross, he communicates challenging truths that are infused with grace, calling for repentance and faith.

We are talking about God's provision this week and Genesis 22 captures both the test of Abraham's faith and God's gracious intervention. When Abraham is asked to sacrifice his son Isaac, he obeys without hesitation, trusting that God would somehow provide. And at the critical moment, God does—by providing a ram as a substitute.

The name Abraham gives the place—"The-Lord-Will-Provide" (in Hebrew, YHWH Yireh or Jehovah Jireh)—has become a lasting testimony to God's character as one who sees and meets our needs. It’s also prophetic, pointing forward to how God would ultimately provide a substitute in Jesus Christ for the sins of the world. This story reminds us that God’s provision often comes at the moment of greatest need, and it challenges us to trust even when the path is unclear.

Provision goes far beyond just giving material things. It's about understanding someone's unique needs and meeting them with compassion and intentionality, just as Jesus did throughout His ministry. He didn’t just provide food or healing; He saw into people’s hearts and gave exactly what they needed—truth, grace, restoration, or presence. This kind of provision requires attentiveness, empathy, and love. When we provide in this way, we reflect God's heart to others, becoming instruments of His grace. Your final question is a powerful call to action: Who needs to see God's provision through your care this week? Maybe it’s a friend who needs encouragement, a neighbor who needs a meal, or someone struggling silently who needs to be seen. Don't forget, we are praying for you!
