Cherries and rain at harvest:

Rain: *exists for 20 minutes*
Cherries: *crack, split, develop brown rot, become worthless*
Me: *stares at weather radar like it owes me money*

An entire year of pruning, spraying, thinning, and irrigating can be destroyed by a single spring shower during the wrong week.

Cherries are the drama queens of stone fruit.

Cherry harvest costs $0.40 PER POUND to hand-pick.

At 10,800 lbs/acre that's $4,320 JUST for picking.

Every cherry you eat was individually grabbed by a human hand, placed in a bucket, transferred to a bin, trucked to a packer, sorted, graded, hydrocooled and boxed.

And you're complaining about $6.99/lb at Costco. SIR.
