In this phase of powerful new beginnings- as Spring emerges, the new moon invites us to dream, and the Aries fire burns bright- what will you no longer accept and what changes does this season require? @angeladavis_

Desman LaDuke was a young, Black man who was grieving and needed help. Police showed up to a wellness check with assault rifles and murdered him. They have no regard for our lives or wellness #desmanladuke#blacklivesmatter#nojusticenotrust

As history has shown time and time again, our liberation is bound together and the state of the country depends on the courage and brilliance of #BIPOC leaders. It's beyond time to invest in the long term sustainability of the movement. #racialjustice

Facts. 2.5 years of devastating anguish over justice denied for Breonna Taylor's family and Brittney Griner being sentenced nine years for a minor oversight. We get no grace and no justice. This is why trust is a big ask- we learn to move in a world that doesn't value us.
2.5 years later, Breonna Taylor’s murderers are charged for her death. Moments later, we hear news of Brittney Griner’s sentencing. There is no real justice for Black women. Just as we’re about to exhale a sigh of relief, we’re reminded why we were holding our breath for so long.
In this moment, I'm thinking of #BreonnaTaylor's mother, Tamika Palmer. Her daughter should be alive. These charges are a firm reiteration that Breonna's life continues to matter and that police cannot be allowed to violate with impunity. #SayHerName

Fascinating findings on where we stand with trust globally. Also confirms that contextual factors like income, education impact trust. Huge implications when you consider global inequities around access to education and wealth #trust

#MartinLutherKing Jr. was clear in his beliefs on love and justice AND he did not shy away from naming complacency and the white moderate as the biggest threats to justice.
Call your legislators, consider donating or volunteering to voting rights organizations like March on for Voting Rights or donating to the King Center. Buy from Black Owned businesses, read #MLK Jr's work and the work of other brilliant Black authors.
