despite what have happened this year i am so happy because i’ve been wishing to see taylor ever since i was a kid. eras tour is forever engraved in my soul, it was the loveliest safe space i’ve been to. i got to be my whole true self at the concert thank u taytay 🤍
so i don’t usually give a damn (but still put my respect) to a song where it contains ‘good/amazing’ lyrics but the melody or chord progression doesn’t hit me
i honestly like taylor solely because she makes music where the melody fits to my preferences. not trying to be different but i honestly love her production game more than her pen work kahsjsjskl, she can just write ‘i hate you, don’t you notice’ and i still eat it up
well for me it’s not that big of a deal but instead i don’t usually resonate with her poetry and how she indirectly puts the message in the ‘big words’ byte of lyrics. like i am more of a melody type of person so i don’t pay extra attention to details in her pen game
the swifties who praised #that line in the lakes to the point of oblivion and those "listening to folklore with my dictionary memes" are KINDA the reasons why the entire "Taylor Swift uses big words to sound poetic" discourse even started if u think about it
Infos according to fans who went to the listening party for “Short n’ Sweet”:
• “Juno” is this album’s “Nonsense”.
• “Don’t Smile” is a r&b perfection.
• “Lie To Girls” is a emotional ballad.
• “Slim Pickins” is a country tune (there's another country song on the album)
the writing and melody is so painfully midnights... who is she trying to fool that this was written during the creation of the original 1989?😭
