I attended and shared my thoughts at a consultative forum organized under the theme 'Social Development for Nation Building,' where major achievements in the social sector over the past years were presented.
Although social sector development, unlike other physical infrastructures does not yield immediate or tangible results, it lays a sustainable and critical foundation for the nation.
Despite current challenges, Ethiopia is being built at a rapid pace, faster than many realize. Even with our resource limitations, there is no social sector where improvement has not been attempted. However, since much work remains to translate our set goals into practice and ensure they achieve their purpose, we must stand together. Just as one hand cannot clap alone, the community must join in as a stakeholder alongside the government’s initiatives.
Summer irrigation farming represents an important step in our journey toward food self-sufficiency. With continued effort, commitment, and better use of our water resources, this path will surely lead us to a more secure and sustainable future where we can feed ourselves reliably.
I officially welcome His Excellency President Daniel Francisco Chapo of Mozambique to Ethiopia.
As the Land of Origins, Ethiopia is a place of boundless opportunity, opening her arms to the world and inviting partners to rediscover their shared roots and grow through cooperation. Through our genuine partnership we affirm that Ethiopia is far more than a destination, it is a second home for all who seek visionary growth and transformation upon mutual respect. I hope that your stay will bring us a productive outcome, laying a foundation of shared success and enduring friendship.
Today, we officially inaugurated Haroo Dendi Lodge in the Oromia Region, a key milestone of the Dine for Generation initiative. Beyond ecotourism, this is the new face of Ethiopia, where modern architecture follows the heartbeat of nature. We didn't just build, we chose to honour our natural legacy, magnifying the existing beauty of Dendi Crater Lake for the generations to follow while honouring the heritage of the local people. It is a human-centred sanctuary built to respect the land and empower the community.
This lodge is a testament to promises made and promises delivered. It elevates Ethiopia as a destination worthy of being visited, invested in, and cherished. As a central pillar of our economy, tourism is not just a sector, it is shaping the future of our national growth.
