@2021Cdfc @Ceeentrals 9 flags. 2000, 2001,2003,2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
Easy way to remember is 2 flags then a loss, 3 flags then a loss, then 4 flags.
Check out the aflw game between crows and saints. Both teams in predominantly white jumpers. No one at afl house able to work out that wearing both clash jumpers will create a clash?
The front and last pages of The Advertiser from Monday September 11, 2000 sum it up beautifully. Nice work Stewie Dew and the Gowans brothers ๐. Go u dogs!
@gowza21 Probably a good time too to say thanks to you and James for contributing towards my favourite 40th birthday present (and my brother in law Mick for organising it).
Next week will see the blues double up for the 10th time since 2003 by playing the two WA teams in Perth in the same year. Collingwood having done it once since 2003 - this year. Also note the pies havenโt played twice in Adelaide in the same year since 2006.
Noted that Collingwood have now lost consecutive games in Perth. Understand a deal was done between afl and mcg that saw pies play more at mcg in order to compensate for prelim finals being played interstate. But check table at bottom of article. https://t.co/qTcb4dpIFB
@AFL_PKeane@AFL Thanks Patrick. Appreciate you clarifying but remain sceptical when you are talking about say $25k (probably more?) in advertising space. Canโt believe News Limited would just do that out of the goodness of their heart.
Current AFL tv rights is $2.5b over 6 years. If you dropped one of the 9 matches thatโs $277m in lost revenue over the six years (or $46m a year).
If AFL is conservatively putting in $50m a year into both Gold Coast and GWS then whatโs the point of having them?
@SANFL Iโd take the 2010 grand final. Just a terrific game of footy and it rounded off the decade of dominance. As Roy said after the game โ it doesnโt get any better than thisโ.
One hour into scorchers innings and we have had 13 overs. So much for the hustle and bustle of T20 cricket. Once again the second innings is being drawn out to keep people watching the broadcast network.
Interesting that when T20 cricket first started each team had 80 minutes per innings. When did that change? Clearly tv stations happy for the games to drag on, and whatโs with the stupid and unnecessary tactical time out.
@timwatson32 does it again. Reporting on champions league results makes reference to the โvarโ as in rhymes with โbarโ. No Tim in the world game itโs called the v.a.r. Canโt seven just put him back on the boundary line of afl broadcasts and spare us.
Great to see Glenelg get the chocolates today knocking off Port Adelaide. It continues to be a great day on the footy calendar. Reserves grand final followed by seniors, great crowds, and you can buy tickets and sit with your family and friends. Proper footy!
