After answering a ton of questions and reading through grower experiences, I’m convinced that soil isn’t the best medium for autoflowers. These plants tend to get stunted in soil, and I think it’s because most breeders grow their autos in coco. Over time, the plants seem to have acclimated to that type of medium.
Coco just offers better aeration, drainage, and more consistent nutrient delivery compared to soil, which can hold too much water and restrict oxygen to the roots. Since autoflowers are on a fixed timeline, they don’t have the luxury of bouncing back from setbacks, and soil can sometimes slow them down too much during that critical veg stage.
If you want the best results with autos, coco seems to be the way to go. It gives you way more control over nutrients, pH, and moisture levels, which is exactly what these plants need to thrive in their short lifecycle. These are my thoughts on it, what about you?! What do you think?! Coco or soil??
