Every day, students at NCHS line the doors of their classrooms, restless as the lunch bell gets closer. Their destination is obvious: the cafeteria - specifically, the Nish-Nosh deli counter, where Maria Villagram stands day after day, turning out wraps like it’s second nature.
NCHS Finance Club took 1st at the Illinois Personal Finance Challenge on April 14, sponsored by State Treasurer Michael Frerichs. Juniors Harsh Patel, Taran Nathan, Krish Patel, and senior Rohan Jain won the statewide competition, with Neuqua Valley placing second. (1/2)

In an email sent by Principal Jackie Thornton on Friday, May 1, a pre-recorded threat was reported to Naperville police before noon regarding Naperville Central. There is an increased police presence around NCHS as a precaution.
Central’s Drumshow delivered their annual performance on April 10 and 11. The theme for this year, Once Upon a Drumshow, was able to engage and captivate audience members with arrangements of Disney and Pixar soundtracks. (1/2)

Krista Gensler was officially named head coach of Central's girls swim and dive program effective April 13, following the March 3 resignation of former head coach Mike Adams, according to an announcement from Athletic Director Jeff Plackett to athletes and their families. (1/3)

On March 20, Naperville Central’s girls varsity track and field teams finished first at the DuPage Valley Conference meet at North Central College. The team beat Neuqua Valley High School by seven points, ending with a 129.75 point total. (1/2)
Central’s boys varsity track team finished second at their indoor DVC meet, scoring 136 points and falling short of Neuqua Valley’s 147.5 pts. Despite entering as reigning champions after winning the last two conference titles, Central was unable to secure the victory this year.
The Naperville Central boys varsity lacrosse team defeated Kaneland 17-1 in their home opener on March 24th, a more dominant performance than their earlier 9-8 win at Geneva. (1/2)
On March 24, Naperville Central’s varsity girls’ badminton team won 8-7 in their match against York Community High School. The team won five of their ten singles matches and three of their five doubles, making for a close but clear victory over York. (1/2)
UPDATE: Naperville Central will proceed with after-school events today following a safety review with Naperville Police. Increased security will be present and entry will be limited to designated doors for safety.
UPDATE: Naperville Police say Thursday night’s threat against Naperville Central came from an unknown caller at 7:38 p.m.
More than a dozen similar threats have been reported in Naperville in the last 10 days. The FBI is assisting with the investigation.
