Things are getting even more out of hand, people. The @Big12Conference now has SIX teams ranked in the AP Poll, with FIVE of them in the top 12.

No other conference has more than THREE teams ranked at all, and no other conference has more than TWO in the top 12. Utter dominance.

So if TCU wins they’re in.
If TCU loses they’d suddenly have a top-8ish win on their resume with KSU. One less loss than Alabama. One more win than Ohio State, plus definitely wouldn’t have an embarrassing 22-point home loss.
So TCU is in regardless, right?

In 2014, 11-1 TCU was left out behind 12-1 Ohio State because there was no Big 12 championship game.

In 2022, if there were no Big 12 championship TCU would already be in, but instead it’s possible 12-1 TCU is left out for 11-1 OSU who didn’t play in a conference championship.
