I had a very productive engagement yesterday with the @WorldBank team led by the visiting Division director for East Africa Mr Qimiao Fan . We reviewed the performance of the current portfolio of World bank funded projects in the sector and the prospective projects to come under the #agriconnect framework.
I thanked the @WorldBankGroup for now focusing on supporting enablers of precision farming like ; Appropriate Irrigation & mechanisation technologies, Support to Private sector players ( large scale commercial farming) and all other interventions aimed at increasing production and productivity.
@FrankTumwebazek@MAAIF_Uganda Honourable this is good. We appreciate the hands-on approach too.

Blessed Easter to you and yours!

Africa’s creative economy is rich in ideas but poor in funding.
Banks see talent as “too risky,” yet ignore the billion-dollar global success of Afrobeats, Nollywood & African fashion.
It’s time to bank on creativity. #CreativeEconomy#AfricaRising
“Art is a hobby, not a business.” 🚫
This outdated mindset blocks funding for Africa’s most promising industries.
It’s time to change the narrative: creativity is enterprise. #CreativeEconomy

Funding should focus on building ecosystems, not just individuals. #AfricaCreativeEconomy

Professionalizing the creative sector is step one to serious funding. #CreativeEconomy
Many investors still don’t understand the business models of creativity.
But streaming, fashion, and gaming are outpacing traditional sectors.
We need investor education to unlock billions in creative potential. #AfricaCreatives
Creatives face a tough reality: policies & budgets often ignore them.
Without strong IP laws, tax incentives, and funding schemes, talent struggles to grow into industry.
Culture is capital — let’s treat it that way. #CreativeEconomy
