Looks like snow, right? Surprise, it's salt. All of this is salt. It barely snows in NYC anymore so I can't understand this. Any snow we got today melted at like 8 am. This is not only wasteful but potentially hazardous and also will ruin people's shoes. @MTA
โThe Palisades fire is one of the most destructive natural disasters in the history of Los Angeles,โ LA Fire Chief Kristin Crowley said.
Thousands of buildings, many homes, have burned.
Another thousand have burned in the Eaton fire.
Stay safe plz

The amount of salt on new york's streets right now is ridiculous. It has snowed, what, a total of half an inch this year (?) but there are literal salt storms on the upper east side. Had to wash my face off after walking down 86th....
"...many have illuminated the corruption and greed (e.g.: Rosenthal, Moore), decades ago and the problems simply remain. It is not an issue of awareness at this point, but clearly power games at play. Evidently I am the first to face it with such brutal honesty.โ
My favorite part about listening to The Daily podcast is when I get to hear an advert for Chevron Oil and another for the Sierra Club in the same episode.
Someone please explain to me why the emergency brakes on @MTA trains are accessible to passengers. Has there literally ever been an instance of a passenger pulling the break and it being more helpful or necessary than alerting the conductor or waiting for the next station?
I think this is the first actual drought that I've ever lived through. 2/10 - the low humidity is nice, but my skin has never been flakier nor my plants unhappier ๐
Enjoyed every line of @Noah__Goldberg's dispatch on the misfit Dodger fans in NYC.
โThey donโt know how to order pizza because they donโt know what good pizza is,โ one New Yorker said. โThatโs a good quote, right?โ

I know this is a chicken or egg argument that I will never truly know the answer to, but seeing articles about budgetary pitfalls at the same time as service goes to shit literally feels like extortion.
The @MTA needs to be held fiscally responsible for the monetary losses it causes people with these absolutely inexcusable, frequent and genuinely dumbfounding delays.
