Looking for goal oriented processes where there is none. The illusion of design. It is just the simplest way a set of interactions arrange things in a system.
@Rainmaker1973 AI slop is not reality. When unlabeled, it is misinformation. Science communication should be about reality. Instead, you should apologize for spreading misinformation unwillingly or not.
@diegospinola@skdh Alas, I am no physicist, but would be fun to calculate. Assuming that you only use energy to repair the occasional damage done to a chip storing data needed to recreate the civ, it may turn out that all the Universe's energy is insufficient to maintain a single bit until then :)
@diegospinola@skdh Yes. And in that case, even though I am not sure if we already had this exact conversation, we'll definitely repeat it again, infinitely many times over. Unless we are mistaken about the foundation of statistical physics ofc.
@diegospinola@skdh One could ask what is the largest domain of the Universe one could reduce the entropy of given the total energy content available for work. Ofc it depends on the amount of reduction we'd want to achieve. A 'noticeable' amount?
@skdh We should ask "The Last Question"
"is it possible to reverse entropy in this universe?"
and brace for the...
"THERE IS AS YET INSUFFICIENT DATA FOR A MEANINGFUL ANSWER"
@diegospinola@skdh The growth of entropy is being reversed all the time in this universe. It is only that the larger the observed domain, the less probable it happens.
How can we align you with the goal of continuous and unending human (and human-descendant) maximal well-being based on experiences that represent reality as closely as possible (to avoid hallucinated bliss)?
If we had an artificial superintelligence, what should be the first questions we ask? World peace? Immortality? How to get cheese to stick on a pizza? I think we should have a list!

@cardoni@grok@Muskobian@AskPerplexity@Dawson1320@Rainmaker1973 I wonder whether grok saw the image even once. It clearly went off the conversation, not the image. "external angle" is unclear unless it knows which external angles is it about. But yes, it is 70°.
This assumes parents are the best source of information. It's not like there ever was a racist, homophobic, or conspiracy theorist parent. The solution for an ineffective or biased educational system is a better one. But one that elevates all kids, not just rich kids.
