BREAKING: MAGA gun nuts have a complete meltdown as the Illinois Supreme Court rejects a conservative challenge to the state's lifesaving assault weapons bans — marking a major victory for gun reform.
But it gets even worse for Republicans...
The court's vote came down to 4-3 and held that regulations preventing not only the sale of assault weapons but also high-capacity magazines are constitutional and can be enforced. It overruled a lower court.
The ban was passed last year after a tragic Fourth of July mass shooting claimed seven lives and injure 48 people near Chicago.
The state's Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker — who signed the bill into law — took a well-earned victory lap after the ruling. He is a rising star in the party.
"This is a commonsense gun reform law to keep mass-killing machines off our streets and out of our schools, malls, parks and places of worship,” he said. "This decision is a win for advocates, survivors, and families alike because it preserves this nation-leading legislation to combat gun violence and save countless lives."
The ruling has infuriated those who challenged the ban, a group of weapons dealers and gun owners who stand to lose profits from the regulations. Too bad! Lives are more important than money.
Please retweet and ❤️ if every state should pass an assault weapon ban — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a “woke” new Twitter competitor that banned Trump for life and is exploding in popularity because Elon Musk banned Tribel’s Twitter account — but he forgot to ban this link to download the new Tribel app: https://t.co/HnJzSKjCwX
Why is it that the "don't groom my kids" crowd and the "Let's ban gender studies in college" crowd seem to be perfectly ok with my kid reading this on the way to school?
Living in Florida we are inundated with flags like this on boats, at the beach, in the roads and on homes. Some of the same people who criticized me for taking my daughter to the Barbie movie because the words "hell " and "damn" were used seem perfectly fine with forcing my 1st-grader to read the word "F**K" while driving to school.
Why?
The state of Arizona is expected to recoup less than $4 million of the roughly $175 million it spent on an ill-fated effort to secure the Arizona border with Mexico using old shipping containers. https://t.co/V5Y7MtMGnG
