We have added 3 new coaches to our team @cepmindset
Each coach brings their own unique strengths and all 3 will be able to help us keep impacting one athlete and one team at a time.
We are excited to have:
- Natasha Habert, MS from Florida State University
- Savannah Fitzgerald, currently MS at California State University
- Sean Mahoney, wrapping up MS at University of Denver this month

I started hockey when I was 2 years old.
Since then I've...
• Played 10 years of jr/college/pro hockey
• Spent 12 years in Uni. to earn my PhD
• Built one of the Largest Mental Performance Coaching Firms in North America

3 reasons why hockey is broken 🧵
This has a lot more to do with the structure than the people.
Most people in hockey have good intentions, but destructive behaviours & practices are normalized & repeated at all levels.
As long as we believe our problems exist due to factors outside of our control - the actions of others, genes - then we are limited in our ability to move forward
When confidence comes from results, you gravitate toward doing easy things. When confidence comes from the ability to figure it out, nothing can stop you.
Athletes tend to overestimate their own role in a mistake and underestimate the role others may have played (ie. teammates, opponents, coaches etc..)
Understand. Accept. Move on
A Great Mental Game Analogy:
In Your Own Head is like the person stuck on the dock too afraid to jump in.
In the Zone is like the person that runs in at full speed, jumps in, and enjoys swimming.
Here is how you can 'jump' into the zone: 🧵

In summary, the 3 steps to jump into the zone are:
1 - Name the Noise
Face your fears
2 - Prepare to Jump
Accept your fears
3 - Jump into the Water
