“The challenge to tangata Tiriti is what we’ll do to support a fightback led by tangata whenua. Will Pākehā, in particular, be prepared to march in solidarity with tangata whenua and all people directly affected by the neo-racist political programme?”

Had the chance to speak to the Family Times about NCEA exams & helping your teen keep things in perspective (& doing that yourself!). Quite stoked I managed to slip the word 'squalor' in there :-D @UCNZ

Would love to have a serious debate about drug reform. Decriminalisation has many benefits - including lowering numbers in prisons & freeing up funding for health & community treatments #nzpolitics
There’s a real skill to chairing a debate, & one of them is ensuring that people don’t talk over each other & another is ensuring equal chance to speak. Seems basic but apparently too hard 😟 #nzpol
This is an utterly essential piece of research, & needs sharing widely. It is crystal clear that screen use is not only of no benefit to very young children, it is predictive of poorer educational outcomes independently of SES and maternal education @UCNZ https://t.co/gs2QbLLoDP
Please share, send this video to everyone you know. Especially young people. Especially those who don't normally vote or pay attention to politics.
It's downloadable so you can save it to your phone and send it wherever.

The National Party’s plan to sell off Aotearoa to clip the ticket is gobsmackingly stupid
- illegal currently
- will drive up prices
- taking our most valuable properties into o’seas ownership
All to offset their rewards for richest kiwi.
What could possibly go wrong?
This is quiet but it has been building & helping the mental health crisis since 2020, along w/ Mana Ake for child mental health. Creative thinking outside trad health models, & a focus on actual f2f mahi. More needed, but good news 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 @drayeshaverrall

This was a random pick from the Shirley @ChristchurchLib shelf on the weekend. I adored it - immersive and subtle and sweet, and about mental illness and sadness and connection. By @barnontherun
Please share! UC are looking for a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor to join our (fantastic) child and family psychology team #academictwitter#academicjobs (& yes that's me in the picture 😄) https://t.co/Z1eXZFYd1U
"Be(com)ing an Asian tangata tiriti" by @lincolndam - used this to accompany te Tiriri workshop for trainee child and family psychologists last week. Huge appreciation from our students, seeing themselves reflected in academic literature. Outstanding👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 https://t.co/ZtNjKuXjgI
I don't have any real data to support this, but my suspicion is that the mistaken belief that "we've done nothing" feeds into a general despair that acts to stop us from doing the necessary things we should be doing.
There is much, much more to do, but from what I can tell it is not widely understood that US per-capita CO₂ emissions have fallen below WWI levels: https://t.co/WBiPUh7qSg
Finally finished the Ministry for the Future, which was published 3 years ago, but is extraordinarily well researched. It rings horribly prescient as to climate change’s sociopolitical as well as natural impacts, & reminds us that money flow is the nub of all change.
