There is a high risk of spread of the virus in the prisons.

An action should be taken immediately to protect the right to life of the innocents kept in jails.

While the bill would allow the release of a prisoner who was held with the crime of corruption, a university student who called Erdogan a 'thief' will not be released.

#COVID19InTurkeysPrisons is a tag the people of Turkey started as a reaction against the law the Turkish parliament is debating on.

The amnesty bill aims the release of 90,000 criminals.

However, 'political prisoners' are excluded from this package.

The Turkish Parliament is adapting a bill that will release almost 1/3rd of the prisoners. But, the ones who are held in jails just because of their political 'thoughts' are not up for amnesty.

A Turkish asylum seeker, Selami Simsek, is reportedly being deported to Turkey by Albania. #HappeningNow He is currently being held in a white van in front of the Interior Ministry.

Latest update: A friend of Selami Simsek said they watched the white van headed to the airport. Apparently, he will be kept at the police headquarter at the airport to be deported tonight.
