@ishaantharoor Then the real story is that for decades bureaucrats were stealing money from those people who needed help, and then decided to stop helping once they couldn’t steal anymore. All they had to do was show where the money was going
@Yung_Spengler This is the most EU thing ever. Don’t burn fossil fuels, but buy energy from people who do. And don’t cool the hospital, but cool water until it is ice, then wear that as a vest.
Utterly stupid.
@CallumLyon That actually isn’t much of a change. I started work in 1995 and I was paid £3.50 an hour. After all my essential bills were paid, I had about £60 left over. I saved this every month for 4 years to pay for a training course so I could earn more money.
@BBCPolitics If for some reason you haven’t already given up on the UK and escaped, please, get out while you can. This is probably the last chance you’ll get.
@Vidilmuyarchi I think a lot of tech companies / founders will do this. But regular companies are so far away from this. A lot of the things they’re solving with a paid for SaaS right now could have been replaced with a google form or spreadsheet for at least a decade. They didn’t do it.
@dissidentwest As a non-American, I hate the way the rest of the world simultaneously demands the US protects and supports us whilst also claiming they’re evil, arrogant and selfish. There’s never any gratitude. We’re like sulky teenagers, angry with our parents while depending on them entirely
@st0neh@IfindRetards I moved to Malaysia from the UK. They actually seem incredibly chill about gay dudes. PDA for anyone is generally frowned on - gay or straight - but there are guys walking around camper than disco and nobody seems to give a shit.
@DanielPriestley It’s crazy to me that people will believe that wealth inequality has never been greater whilst watching period dramas where the wealthy all live in giant castles and the poor live in tiny huts and wear rags. The gap in number is bigger, but the gap in quality of life is smaller
