My friend Kene was a proper simp. This girl had him wrapped around her finger. He was always the first to view her status, sending money for her hair and nails without her even asking. Every weekend he was driving across town just to see her for thirty minutes. We warned him, but he kept saying she was the one.
Then she started posting stories with another guy, laughing, holding hands. Kene saw it and still found excuses for her. Until the day she posted a picture with the caption “My man” and tagged the other guy.
That hit him like a truck. He stopped everything — no more texts, no more money, no more chasing. Took him months to heal, but he finally learnt his lesson. Never simp for someone who doesn’t value you.
I was crashing at my Dad's apartment in the Lagos for couple days while sorting out some work stuff. Dad had mentioned daughter Lisa his step daughter was stopping by to pick up a few things, but i didn’t think much of it, and I've never met her before to be sincere.
When she walked in, carrying a couple of shopping bags, our eyes met for a second too long. She was confident, with that effortless city energy. So we started chatting while Dad took a work call in the other room — small talk turned into real talk pretty fast. She laughed at my dry jokes, and i couldn’t stop noticing how she looked at me.
An hour later, Dad had to run out for a quick errand. The apartment suddenly felt very quiet. Lisa leaned against the kitchen counter, looking at me. “You know,” she said, voice low, “I wasn’t planning on staying this long o but meeting my step Brother for the first time isn't too bad.”
