Domestic worker's daughter kidnapped by employer in Kensington, Gauteng

A distressing incident unfolded in Kensington, Gauteng, where a domestic worker's 6-year-old daughter was allegedly kidnapped by her employer.

The mother, Eva, and her daughter, Laura, had been residing in the employer, Carlos Rebelo's residence, as Laura had been working for Carlos since 2014.

Eva has voiced concerns about Carlos attempting to separate her from Laura in the past. Despite a court order for Carlos to return Laura to Eva, he reportedly absconded before the deadline.

Details suggest that the suspect may be driving an old gold Mercedes with the license plate HBN 940 GP, and efforts to reach him have been unsuccessful as his phone is switched off and his residence inaccessible.

This unsettling incident took place in July 2024.
