When I did my psychiatric posting as a student in Kaduna, one of the things that shocked me most was how many healthcare workers, both doctors and nurses, were battling pentazocine addiction. It’s a horrible addiction that can completely destroy a person’s life.

One case has stayed with me was that of a young nurse who was first prescribed pentazocine after a back injury. She began stealing the drug from work, and by the time her colleagues realized what was happening, she was already deeply addicted.

By the time I met her, she had already relapsed four times. This woman had lost everything even her children, the youngest was even less than 2 but they had to be taken away from her. She genuinely wanted to stop but everytime she would leave rehab, she would relapse.

That experience changed the way I view addiction. It’s easy to judge from a distance but when you see someone lose their career, reputation, family, and sense of self to a substance they never intended to become dependent on, it becomes impossible not to feel empathy. Addiction is a cruel disease, and I genuinely wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

Infact, he has different colors/ brands of the asiwaju cap and has flaunted it even in his constituency, hence telling the people who voted him to go hug a transformer.

With the current political wave, he has started following Peter Obi, singing praises and eulogies, just to ride on his popularity.

He has moved to ADC and now in NDC, and has promised Nigerians a change of heart as he intends to throw away all the "on your mandate caps in his closet" if the people vote for him again.

As a Pastor, I can tell many of you here have never been deep into discipleship with some of your takes. Someone goes through a class and does really well to win an award and on the day of presentation, the pastor still addresses the contradiction PUBLICLY! Yet, we are still having this conversation.
The brother who does the under bridge church,has shared cases of his members still going back to the street, some even needing to be bailed from jail. None of us here questions his teachings because we understand their peculiarities. What makes this any different?

We really need to be less judgmental. The full transformation is ongoing and if you claim not to see it, think for a moment that you may be questioning the efficacy of the Work of the Holyghost is a person's life. A Christian should be someone of faith,you are persuaded of good things concerning a person.

We all have someone we have been trusting God for their total transformation.
Let's really keep praying for people, as there are those finding their way to God, and there are also those who are losing touch with their faith. Both people need assurance that we will stand by them to full maturity, not scrutinize their every act.
