The work of @ManUtdWomen & @ManUtd to create inspiring coaching clinics for the women's game & improve their players through @CoerverCoaching partnership is very impressive. Alot learnt for our team last night now to implement & support the development of the girls we work with
Funding distribution needs to be more selective in order for the grassroots game to create sustainable development pathways and reduce barriers for young women and girls to access the beautiful game! It is evident girls want to play. The question is will their voices be heard?
G4G have been working in schools since 2011 and still first hand see the impact when boys sports get prioritised over female extra curricular provisions. There is still a lot of work to be done!
Discussing the legacy & the DfE's decision to not commit to ensuring equal access for girls in schools. We are meant to be reducing barriers, not creating them. We need to keep this conversation going to encourage all schools to provide equal opportunity within education.
This year already we have had two schools who have prioritised their funding for extra curricular activities for Boys leaving over 40 female participants without consistent school football.
