More than 20,000 Xbox fans are asking Microsoft to remove paid online multiplayer, saying players should not have to pay extra just to play online after already buying a console and games.
A request on Microsoft’s Feedback Portal has received over 20,000 votes, making it one of the most popular requests from Xbox users.
Fans want online multiplayer to be free instead of requiring a Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
If Yann is right, then why was one of Anthropic's largest investors and strategic partners reportedly among those raising concerns?
That seems to point to something larger than a debate over AI safety.
Perhaps we're witnessing the moment frontier AI begins to be treated less like software and more like strategic infrastructure.
Big news. For me, the takeaway is that we're no longer debating who builds the best AI.
We're beginning to debate who gets access to the best AI.
History suggests that when a technology becomes sufficiently important, access rarely becomes less restricted over time. Advanced semiconductors, cryptography, nuclear technology, and aerospace capabilities all followed that path.
Whether this action is justified or not, it raises a bigger question: has frontier AI crossed the threshold from software product to strategic asset?
That's a very different future.🙄
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

Isn't that giving Dario too much credit and too much blame? The assumption seems to be that one CEO created this outcome. I'm not convinced. When a technology becomes sufficiently important, governments, corporations, investors, and competitors all begin exerting influence over its direction. AI may simply be crossing that threshold. The bigger question isn't whether Dario should stay or go. It's whether frontier AI is transitioning from a commercial product to a strategic asset. If that's what's happening, this debate is much larger than Anthropic or any single CEO.
@AlexFinn Maybe local models are the answer. Maybe they aren't.
What fascinates me is how quickly the conversation shifted.
A year ago we were debating model performance.
Today we're debating access, control, and sovereignty.
AI is now a strategic asset vs simply a commercial product.
What's interesting isn't whether the security concerns are valid. It's that a handful of conversations between frontier AI companies & government officials can apparently reshape access to advanced models almost overnight.
If AI becomes critical infrastructure, we're entering a world where competitive dynamics, national security, and public policy become increasingly difficult to separate. The governance model matters as much as the technology.
I just started moving my https://t.co/WnGEoNadot WordPress site to @base44. It's an AI-powered career and growth platform designed to help executives and senior leaders navigate the worlds of brand, marketing, and growth.
I'm really impressed by the speed at which the entire site is being recreated while adding significantly more functionality and control behind the scenes.
It took me months to build the old WordPress version. With Base44, instead of spending weeks dealing with themes, paywalls, integrations, and plugin management, I was able to focus on the user experience, the features I wanted to add, and creating a better content publishing workflow optimized for search, answer engines, and AI discovery.
The biggest surprise has been how quickly I can move from idea to implementation without introducing the complexity and maintenance overhead that inevitably comes with a heavily customized WordPress stack @Base44 🚀
@TTrimoreau It's a bit of a perfect storm; it's an employer's market right now, then add the AI filtration ATS systems are using, not the best time to look for a job, but then on the other hand, a great time to reinvent your approach as a job seeker.
