@flameosumeet As it stands why would any MLS club really push to develop youth soccer? Sure their academies exist…but not like European academies. Results don’t matter. There’s nothing on the line. They’re franchises
@flameosumeet Pro/Rel makes everything matter.l from top down… incentives clubs to invest in youth soccer & academies so everything is vertically integrated. You want to stay in top division by developing players or buying them? Aka make money off player transfers? Invest in the academy early
@flameosumeet Skill and intelligence. Sure if tyrique hill picked up a soccer ball instead of a football he might be elite but there are plenty of insane athletes that look terrible with a ball at their feet because: culture, early engagement, no open ecosystem at the highest level
@flameosumeet Country but most quit by age 13. Again cultural. The athlete thing has been pushed forever. Our soccer athletes are on par with the rest of the world. It’s not an athlete issue. It’s a skill and early engagement issue. Football isn’t inherently an athletic game it’s a game of
