I was listening to Alex Crook earlier on Talksport making a case that Chelsea still need a GK and a striker because Joรฃo Pedro is not really a striker.
I got confused. Since when do you need a pole [striker] to be competitive in the Premier League?
Liverpool won with Firmino. Pep won with Aguero. Arsenal even won with Gyokeres, who isn't better than Joรฃo Pedro.
Some narratives live in people's heads for too long that they start to make sense to them.
As far as I'm concerned, a weak GK and CF can cost you a title race, but they are ultimately not the only deciding factors. Salah and Firmino scored more than Firmino and still won the title. Leicester won the title with Schmeichel in goal. Kante and Mahrez made it happen.
The bottom line is, don't concentrate on individual positions but the functionality of the team as a unit. A strong team can carry one or two positions and cover it well.
