In 2026, they arrested him for four counts of sexual assault and battery - accusing him of years of abusing women as an imam and Islamic school administrator.

Now they’re proudly showing off Deputy S. Hussain - a full hijab-wearing Muslim deputy on the force.

This is Muslim religious leader Louai Elkhatib, 55, getting a public handshake and certificate from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department for “5 years of continuous service” in 2024.

Two years later - on July 20, 2026 - the same department arrested him.

He faces four counts of first-degree assault and battery and one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Multiple women have accused him of years of sexual abuse while he served as imam of the mosque and administrator of the attached school.

Elkhatib allegedly used his position of religious and school authority to prey on vulnerable women — mosque members and school employees who felt they couldn’t say no.

The Tax-Exempt Islamic Organization He Led

Mission Hope Foundation - a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 20-1359156) at 2304 Kneece Rd, Columbia, SC.

It operates the Columbia Mosque (open 24/7) and a private K4-8 Islamic school with ~58 students. Elkhatib was CEO and Treasurer and deeply embedded in both.

The school is listed as eligible for South Carolina Education Savings Account (ESA) funding and scholarships - meaning taxpayer-supported money could help pay for children to attend.

Tax-deductible donations? Yes.
Public trust? Completely shattered.
This is exactly why blind “openness and kindness” is destroying us. We keep celebrating and platforming people tied to ideologies that treat women as property.

🚨Islam’s own sources prove it:

Quran 4:11 — A woman inherits half of what a man does.

Quran 2:282 — A woman’s testimony is worth half a man’s.
Quran 4:24 & 33:50 — Men can take sex slaves (“those whom your right hands possess”).

Muhammad captured women in war, distributed them as booty, had sex with slaves, and commanded his followers to do the same.

And yet our leaders were busy giving this man awards while he allegedly preyed on women in his own community.
