BREAKING: Venezuela approves Starlink-powered Direct-to-Device testing to support post-earthquake communications. 🇻🇪

• Venezuela’s telecom regulator, CONATEL, approved a temporary 3-month pilot for Movistar/Telefónica to test Starlink-powered Direct-to-Device connectivity.

• The pilot will use SpaceX’s Starlink satellite constellation.

• It is designed to let mobile phones connect directly with satellites.

• Testing is focused on La Guaira, one of the earthquake-affected areas.

• This will help people stay connected when cell towers, fiber, or ground networks are damaged.

Starlink is proving once again that satellite connectivity can become a lifeline when disaster strikes.

⚠️The polls are skewed

The graph below shows the age distribution of the people surveyed in the last 4 polls published on 338 Canada.

This is the actual age distribution of 1,000 Canadians above the age of 17 if the sample was perfectly random.

18-34 years old: 216

35-49 years old: 197

50-64 years old: 230

65+ years old: 195

In other words, all the lines on the graph should be roughly the same age.

Conclusion: The pollsters are surveying a grossly disproportioned number of older Canadians (50+).

Note: The green bars are from a company called Liaison Strategies. I would say they got it right, but 338 gives them a "B" score.

Today, I’m asking British Columbians to come together to safeguard and strengthen our democracy.

As BC’s elected Official Opposition, the Conservative Party of British Columbia did not want to make any potentially undue allegations prior to gathering evidence and concrete testimony.

We wanted to be absolutely certain that there was meaningful, pointed testimony and concrete evidence gathered, before taking the necessary step of asking difficult questions that may, unintentionally, shake public trust in our electoral process.

Now that we have gathered this testimony, including several very concerning affidavits which allege elections act offences, we are asking for a non-partisan investigation and a grace period for potential complainants to come forward.

This isn’t about playing partisan politics — it’s about asking very serious and important questions about BC’s elections process, and the integrity of our democracy in British Columbia and in Canada.

I am particularly concerned by allegations of coerced voting, strategic illegal out-of-riding voting, and non-Canadian citizens voting in BC’s recent 2024 provincial election.

Moreover, as a British Columbian and a Canadian, I am disturbed by a pattern of politicians advancing policies which sacrifice the integrity of our electoral process on the alter of accessibility.

We are naive to believe that bad actors will not take advantage of these loopholes that can undermine the integrity of the vote, in our democracy.

In mere months, Canada may see our first ever Prime Minister elected by a majority of non-citizens, due to the highly lax rules of the Federal Liberal Party’s leadership process.

As a people, as a province, and as a nation — we must strive to do better, and to make Canadian citizenship mean something, once again. #bcpoli
