Members of the 45th Kitchener Cubs troop visited the museum Tuesday night where they learned about some of the history of the fire service and got to try on some of the gear and got a lesson in CPR.
Today the museum was visited by two local members of Henry Ford’s Dreams Collector Club who took particular interest in our 1838 Bickle-Seagrave fire truck. They are seen here looking under the hood and investigating the engine of this gem in our collection.
With the World Junior Hockey tournament taking place this week, we'd like to show that there is more to the museum than firefighter gear and helmets. Our collection also includes interesting clothing like this Galt Fire Department hockey sweater from the 1950s. @2023.worldjuniors
Many children would love to find a new fire truck under the tree at Christmas. In 1943, Jack McCaig made that dream come true for the children of Galt firefighters who were serving overseas during World War II. This toy is one of our most prized artifacts. Merry Christmas to all!
Just a heads up regarding our hours over the holidays. The museum will be open Saturday, Dec. 24, but closed Saturday, Dec. 31. https://t.co/ctvVorDmIU
Christmas came early Saturday for this little firefighter as she got her wish to climb aboard and drive the museum’s vintage fire truck. @ Fire Hall Museum and Education Centre https://t.co/gPaPmF8LBL
