@SaysSimulation The point about this shift opening Canada up to a lot more competition in the brutal global market looks like it's lost on the ones pushing this. Those folks think it's only upside.
I just don't see the thinking here - EU treaties and agreements will take years to agree on and this is a completely new relationship category. They floated it for Ukraine (I think?) but that was for entirely different reasons, so everyone will be starting from scratch on this. If it is more like the agreement they have with Turkey, Moldova, etc. then this is a terrible tradeoff for them. This HAS to be all bluster, right?.... right??
I totally agree. I have been working on a project to address this but in a way that keeps all this reasoning in-house. I built Calyx (https://t.co/NdIceiv2aH) exactly to address this: a lightweight, Git-native convention + bundle for teams using AI. I am swamped with other stuff but it would be great if other folks would carry this concept forward. Would be awesome to live inside cursor or similar as a native feature and stores the reasoning artifacts in your own repo.
Isn't it easy to target a reform here? Why not an exemption of ocean-going vessels while you keep the river barges? You can even keep the US crew regulations if you want. We do not produce ocean-going ships like these at any kind of scale (The last one I could find was delivered in 2023 - hardly a brisk-paced industry). So the benefits are narrowly focused on a small industry sector, while the costs impact millions. AK, HI, PR, USVI, especially.
Hi all, I created something that I want to share and hopefully get your help on:
Calyx is a small, Git-native convention for teams that already work with AI: capture reasoning (hooks + inbox), distill into .calyx/ (reasoning + ADRs + tags), and optionally lift reusable patterns to an org layer. It is a steward of thinking, not a harvester of chats.
It’s MIT, lives as a submodule (calyx-core), and pairs with Cursor + bash today.
If you’re building serious software with agents and are tired of "the model knew why" disappearing when the tab closes, then Calyx is meant for you.
Try it, break it, tell us what’s wrong. Thanks!

From Grok with some refining follow up questions: Those exact coordinates (38.369355° N, 127.081174° E) point to a specific hardened multi-bay (or multi-portal) support/maintenance facility at a North Korean military site in Kangwŏn Province (likely associated with or near the broader Ichon/Anbyon-area missile infrastructure or a related underground facility complex).1279
This location fits squarely within North Korea’s forward/tactical missile belt in the province, where multiple undeclared missile operating bases and underground facilities (UGFs) are concentrated. While CSIS Beyond Parallel has not published a dedicated report on this exact building with the prominent 6-offshoot layout (their in-depth profiles focus on representative examples like Kumchon-ni, Hoejung-ni, etc., which use similar but often smaller/paired drive-through designs), the overall pattern, construction style, and purpose align perfectly with the documented family of structures.3875
Visual and Functional Match
•The 6 short horizontal offshoots/portals: These are individual hardened bays or short drive-through spurs extending from a central reinforced structure. Each is sized for TELs (transporter-erector-launchers), support vehicles, or equipment. The segmented/crenellated appearance comes from thick blast walls between bays for compartmentalization (preventing one incident from affecting others).
•Terminating under trees/vegetation: Deliberate terrain-hugging camouflage — the facility is bermed into the hillside, with portals blending into the forested slope. This is a hallmark of NK UGF support buildings to reduce visibility from satellites.
•Context: Near military bases with UGFs, as you originally noted. These surface buildings serve as protected access/maintenance points for deeper underground storage, arming, fueling, and checkout before missiles/vehicles disperse to launch positions.
Similar (though not identical) multi-bay examples appear in reports on bases like Sino-ri (with four-bay hardened vehicle shelters) and various drive-through checkout facilities. Your images show a larger variant optimized for parallel operations and survivability.75
Bottom line: This is a classic hardened missile/equipment support facility tied to North Korea’s underground fortress strategy in the region. The design prioritizes redundancy, blast protection, and concealment over anything else. No public source highlights this precise 6-portal example with annotated imagery (open-source analysis often generalizes these due to classification and imagery limits), but it matches the engineering and doctrinal patterns across CSIS/38 North coverage of Kangwŏn Province sites.68
@bustNmove@Super70sSports They did a tiny desk concert at NPR last year - https://t.co/O9DQvfmGQF. The best comment I saw for the video was that they looked like 5 dads from totally different sit-coms.
That would be a sure way to crash a VTOL plane! For sure something weird happened, it looks like it just fell out of the sky. It also looks like the pilot ejected at least a few seconds before the video starts. I'm not sure how long it takes for the process to go from ejection to full parachute open, so not sure how long before
:07 top view shows no inner part of the lift fan. It is painted white, so if the door was ripped off, you would see the lift fan and the white area around it? There are also other doors that open behind the lift fan on the top of the plane (auxiliary exhaust) as well as below the fuselage behind the front gear (primary exhaust) and on the bottom of each wing (roll control). I suppose all of them could have been lost, but I would think that the white paint would stand out in the video.
@findmegone@MacPlus_87 @HollerinHowley @Brian9935531235 @sentdefender Yeah - there would be panels on the top and bottom open and from this side view, the main engine nozzle would be sticking down. It is very strange - gear down, plane basically tumbling at slow speed... 🤷♂️
@elonmusk The visual is amazing, but don’t sleep on the sound! New Elon idea; ASMR SpaceX launches. Not sure the cost of setting that up, but I will be a lifetime subscriber.
what’s the lowest stakes conspiracy theory you have? i think airplane mode is a hoax because they don’t want you texting your friends and telling them you’re not having fun on the plane
