Good Partners are invaluable! Thank you @gavinnewsom@CoryBooker and @RoKhanna for helping fight the fight in the Deep South on redistricting. Your investment of financial resources helps in this effort and helps elect Democrats at every level. #flipthefuture
Senator, come on now. The issue is not simply the race of the representative. The issue is whether legislatures are diminishing the ability of Black communities to elect candidates of their choice: candidates who reflect their interests, values, and lived experiences.
And let’s be honest: yes, you’ve won statewide in South Carolina, and that is a significant achievement. But you are not receiving overwhelming support from the majority of Black voters in this state. That reality is central to this discussion, not incidental.
Again, the Voting Rights Act standard is not whether a Black candidate can win a district or statewide. The question is whether Black communities retain the ability to elect candidates of their choice. And the map that was presented and created by the White House went into SC’s largest Black communities and divided those communities into multiple districts thereby reducing the power of those voters to elects candidates of their choice.
Join us this Saturday at Reid Chapel AME Church for an important candidate forum focused on the future of South Carolina.
Your voice matters. Your vote matters. Your future matters.

I’ve become interested in interior design and enjoy trying to identify the styles. Would you call this maximalism? I like a collected, layered maximalist look, but I think I prefer the Sanford & Son maximalist aesthetic. However, I’m struggling to say how it’s different. 1/2

You can trust me because I have never forgotten where I come from or who I am accountable to. I am here to serve, not to be served. Every decision I make will reflect that.
Let’s build a future we can all be proud of.
