Jews and allies from across London are marching to honour one of Britain’s defining victories against fascism.

On Sunday 4th October, there will be a commemoration in the East End of the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street — when, in 1936, thousands of Jews and their allies stood together to stop the British Union of Fascists from marching through the area.

90 years on, the message remains as important as ever: antisemitism must be confronted, not tolerated.

As antisemitism once again runs rampant in Britain, we are reminded of the resilience required to stamp out anti-Jewish racism.

Police have launched a manhunt after a woman was raped by a stranger in a broad daylight attack in Stoke-on-Trent.

The woman was approached by an unknown man near Bucknall Old Road in Hanley before being taken into an alleyway and raped at around 1pm on 11 May 2026.

Detectives have carried out a number of enquiries as part of the ongoing investigation and have now released an image of a man they want to speak to, appealing directly to the public for help identifying him.

Anyone who recognises him, or has information that could help detectives, is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident 457 of 11 May.

The investigation remains ongoing and police are urging anyone who may have seen the man around Bucknall Old Road or Hanley at the time of the attack to come forward.

This is extremely worrying.We are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a 16-year-old girl who has been reported missing from home in Halifax.

Maheq was last seen at home at around 8.45am on Wednesday (23 September) and was reported missing on Thursday morning.

A number of enquiries have been made to try and locate Maheq but at this time she remains missing.

She is described as Asian, with shoulder-length black hair and braces. When she was last seen she was wearing a black tracksuit and black and white DKNY trainers.
