They’re not bottlers. They’re not weak. They’re a young team, early in their development, doing brilliant things.
Every fan wants to support a team like this.
Hard to remember when the pressure is on, but have to enjoy it. This is a season we’ll talk about for a long long time.
Huge result tonight. Big points. Big step.
I don’t know how this season ends - I’m sure there are twists and turns to come - we might fall short.
But personally, I’m bought in. I want to see where this goes. I love this group.
❤️
Setback, bounce-back. Strongly suspect that will continue to be the way with this Arsenal team this season. And personally I think that’s inevitable, perhaps even understandable, and may still be enough to get them a top six finish.
They really needed that one, mind.
@geoffreyvs@FiveThirtyEight That's really interesting. Do you think that maybe Jersey City having its mayoral elections yesterday could have driven turnout higher because of the increased local engagement? That's my pet theory (and, you know, Hudson County being "vote early, vote often")
@geoffreyvs as a NJsian, I can definitely relate. It's painful.
Question: did you see that Hudson county was corrected earlier (was double-counted)? Does that fix the Murphy overperformance you were seeing there that you mentioned on the @FiveThirtyEight election liveblog?
So absolutely gutted for him. A massive part of their success. To put that much pressure on a 19 year old is just so so cruel. Completely echo this article.
@r_a_salvatore @ashishkjha Absolutely. I won't admit this readily, but I have a begrudging respect for the Sox. Always liked Damon, for example.
OTOH, I now have a burning hatred for the Astros that I'll probably take to my grave that's basically just pure malice.
@r_a_salvatore @ashishkjha And for the record, I’m a Yankees fan, so when you have Sox and Yankees fans agreeing on something, you know it’s a problem.
@r_a_salvatore @ashishkjha Not sure why people are giving you such a hard time in your replies — that was my immediate thought and a great question.
8 people were infected, and only the first detected case (3rd base coach) was slightly symptomatic. The rest weren’t. Torres already had Covid, too.
the curtain, so to speak, I know the amount of work she's put into BWoS and I couldn't be happier that her day has finally come. So congrats @RobynGigl — it's completely deserved, and I am so thrilled the rest of the world gets to finally meet Erin McCabe. 4/4
A very, very happy pub day to my Dad, @RobynGigl, who's fantastic debut novel BY WAY OF SORROW hits shelves today (https://t.co/78mrnEeLF6). I don't say this often enough, but she's an absolutely extraordinary person, so much so that I'm having a hard time trying 1/
Legal Thrillers that not only in my sorta-biased-but-still-fairly-objective opinion embody the #OwnVoices movement, but are just damn good books.
So it's sort of like a superhero at day and at night? I'm not sure how that works.
As someone who's peaked behind 3/
Speaking personally, this article is a.) pretty much the best articulation of how I've felt the past year and b.) an important reminder that yes, we're all human
I wrote an op-ed today about the way I will always remember this past year -- a time of too many decisions, not enough help, and fraying ends.
