This is a pretty wretched display of the anti-APRN, anti-competitive behavior from guild protectionists.
Health policy deserves serious discussion not “tears” of other professionals
I'm the CEO of the AANA, so I'm aware of our position. I'm also acutely aware of the fact that this country is facing massive issues with access, so what we really need is leadership and vision, not fear-mongering and yellow journalism. CRNAs and other APPs have excellent outcome
@k_liebowitz @kari_jerge I can assure you - there is no substandard care when you receive an anesthetic (without anesthesiologist "supervision") from me. I deliver thousands of anesthetics yearly without issue. I read incessantly- go to conferences - follow up with patients and deal with crises.
@DrKhaldun Req'ing a cross-cntry runner to wear a mask during a non-contact sport where their HR reaches the high 100's and cardio-vasc system is pulling as hard as it can - is beyond cruel. This is beyond science. No one supports risk mitigation more than me but this is beyond reason
@JoeRod51@dougducey@JBPritzker, we thank you for your leadership during this healthcare crisis. Please consider removing practice barriers for IL #CRNAs so that we can meet the tremendous demands of our healthcare system in the future.
@GovWhitmer - thank you for lifting barriers to practice to our full scope for CRNAs and APRNs in Michigan! We dont have a shortage of providers- just a shortage of people doing what they're trained to do! Thank you for easing some of the red tape!
Morning @dougducey - thank you for your leadership during this time!! Some good news from your recent decision:
Since removing optional CMS supervision for #CRNAs, our group has been contacted by multiple hospitals seeking help with #Intubation and #Ventilator management ➡️
@DrQuinn15 @PillowTalkCRNA @catholicgoat@vickinortonmd@SunSentinel The problem lies in the beginning where you said, "I think"....if you had a thought it would be lonely. Stop ruminating over issues you dont understand.
@WilliamHauter@CarlosGSmith@Twitter@FLNurses Dont forget to keep that eye on PAs (physician anesthesiologists) who make the patient and admin and their mom in Columbus, Ohio think that they actually do anesthesia. That's the only misrepresentation I see. Make sure the patient knows you will be in the lounge.
@DrKerryMitchell @AnesthesiaCRNA @CarlosGSmith@Twitter@FLNurses If it is stand alone why is physician anesthesiologist PLASTERED everywhere these days? Thank the ASA for creating this bit of redundancy which implies there are other types of anesthesiologists. Check the AA website and get back about the anesthetist title. #dontblameus
