Based on the premise of the battle bus, how it was paid is entirely relevant. The premise was that we send 350M a week to Brussels, and instead we should be sending that to the NHS. That materially never happened, and as a result of Brexit our GDP shrank. We didn’t ‘divert’ the funds to the NHS, as our economy contracted way more than that, so we had less money to even allocate (hence borrowing increased).

In short: the bus was a lie.

@reset_britain @Lord_Sugar As a result: actually no. It was funded through general taxation, and crucially borrowing, not from any surplus caused by leaving the EU. Our economy (GDP) shrank.

I think if you take a look at how much the economy shrank, how (shocker) immigration didn’t change because the EU was never the source of trouble (small boats?) how we didn’t sign any meaningful trade deals, became more dependent on the US and its capricious leader, my own immigration status in the EU changed without my say so, and yes, the bus being completely wrong in its message (we did NOT give the NHS 350M per week more budget) I think I can say it was a f*cking disaster.
