Testnet validators are the ones we will know. Uptime, responsiveness, how a node behaves when the network is under load, none of that can be assessed from an application form. It is earned by running one. The operators who secure testnet are the operators we will turn to first for mainnet.

🔐 Orbinum: runtime + SDK migration shipped.

Runtime first: validator onboarding moved off-chain, and registering an EVM relay address is now self-service with proof of key ownership. Relay fees are attributed by dispatch origin instead of a call argument, there's no field left for someone to rewrite and claim a fee they never paid for. That's the groundwork for onboarding community validators.

SDK next, and this is the bigger one. Every secret now derives as a sibling branch of the master key instead of a chain. Before, the key that FINDS your notes descended from the key that SPENDS them, you couldn't hand out one without the other.

Separating them unlocks:

🔹 Watch-only wallets, a viewing credential that cannot spend, enforced by the type system
🔹 Granular upgrades, spending keys, payment slips and viewing keys can now evolve independently
🔹 Payment slip recovery

That last one: a slip is sealed toward the recipient, so the sender never held a readable copy. Send it, lose it, note gone. Now your wallet recovers the public facts from chain and seals a fresh envelope with identical contents, without ever reading the original.

You can re-share any note you've ever sent. And sender history is exact, not inferred from "inputs minus change minus fee".

Nothing extra goes on chain for any of it.

⚠️ Breaking identity change: notes are committed under an owner key, so re-deriving orphans them. Unshield before upgrading.

Private transfers just got easier to receive. When you send from your Private Vault, you now get a payment slip, share it, and the recipient imports their funds instantly. No chain scanning on their side.

How it works:

🔹 Make a private transfer from your vault
🔹 A payment slip is generated with the transfer
🔹 Share it with the recipient, any channel you like
🔹 They import it and the funds appear. Done.

The slip holds only what the recipient needs to detect the note, no spending keys, so it grants nothing on its own.

Week two accelerated. Week three doubled down:

🔹 300,000+ blocks produced
🔹 91,000+ transactions, up 69% from week two
🔹 154,000+ commitment leaves in the Merkle tree, up 103%
🔹 67,000+ ORB in the shielded pool, up 131%

The shielded pool didn't just grow. It more than doubled. In seven days, you added more ORB to the pool than in the first two weeks combined.

📈 But growth comes with a challenge, and we're facing it head-on.

As commitment leaves pile up, note scanning gets slower: every wallet has to sift through more and more of the tree to find its own notes. This is the problem every privacy blockchain before us has hit, and none has truly solved. It's our top priority: a unique solution that recovers the notes of any address instantly, no matter how big the tree gets. The multi-tree forest removed the ceiling on capacity. This removes the ceiling on speed.

🔑 What's a disclosure key?

Orbinum notes are private by default. Nobody sees them but you. A disclosure key changes that, for one note, for one person you choose.

That's selective disclosure. Not "public or private." Private, and you pick who sees what.

Every note has a disclosure key: a short 'orbdisc:…' string that proves the note's contents without exposing your wallet or your other notes. Share it, and the receiver can verify that one note. Nothing else.

How it works in the Testnet Quests:

🔹 Capture → open a note in your wallet, copy its disclosure key
🔹 Share → hand the 'orbdisc:…' key to another member, any channel
🔹 Claim → paste a key someone else shared with you into the Selective Disclosure quest

The quest rewards the receiver, not the sharer. To claim, the key has to be for someone else's note, not your own. Ask a friend, they ask you back. Both sides earn ORB Credits.

Any note works. No minimum amount. Each note can be claimed once, ever, so use fresh keys.

🔍 The hardest problem in private money: finding your own notes.

In a shielded pool, no one can see which notes are yours, not even the network. Privacy by design. But it cuts both ways: your wallet can't just ask "which notes are mine?" without revealing exactly what privacy is supposed to hide.

So every wallet has to try-decrypt the entire pool. Every note, one by one. It's the scan problem, and every privacy chain has fought it: Monero shipped view tags, Zcash built compact blocks. Years of open research that we get to stand on, and push further.

Today we published Orbinum SDK 0.16.0, a major upgrade to note scanning:

🔹 View tags → a 1-byte filter skips 99.6% of foreign notes without decrypting
🔹 Self-note discovery → your own notes (shields, change) are recognized with zero trial decryption, a step we haven't seen any chain ship before
🔹 17× faster curve math on the scanning hot path
