I’ve been digging into the Phonetics 2025 conference recently held in Hong Kong and what I found is deeply concerning.
This may be a high-dollar scam targeting linguistics researchers and departments.

But when you see such high-profile names on the board, you expect more involvement and support from the organizer.

The local team isn't to blame as they are a victim too.
