BREAKING: The Los Angeles Sparks are trading five-time All-Star Kelsey Plum to the Phoenix Mercury for Monique Akoa Makani, a 2027 first round pick and a 2028 second-rounder, sources tell me and @kendra__andrews.
I have never seen her play. I don’t follow the W. But here’s what the objective data says:
She is the NBA equivalent of Andre Drummond.
- Historically elite rebounder. O board rate is through the roof (17-18%).
- She’s a plus defender with her length and nose for the ball. Positive on/off and steal rate.
- Her true shooting of 51% is historically bad, at any level, considering the volume from the paint. This would be in the ‘unplayable’ category in any other league.
- Her turnover rate is very poor for a guard, let alone a big, at 18%.
This is definitely not a superstar, no matter how much of a cult following she has accumulated. Solid role player, but situationally dependant.
The Justice Department is admitting that a $14 million renovation on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, DC, was flawed, and is dropping the criminal case against a former Olympian that accused him of damaging the pool, according to a new court filing. https://t.co/ZvFnQUocq4

#Fever guard Sophie Cunningham on her trans comments in ESPN:
“I said what I said. I think it’s kind of common sense. … I think it’s really important to protect children.”
“I don’t dislike anyone. … I’m there to love, but I’m also there to love biological women. …”
Australia is planning some of the world's toughest AI regulations
• Water usage will be limited
• AI data centers will be required to become net producers of energy
• AI companies can't train on Australian creators' work without their permission
• Proposals expected to be introduced as legislation in 2027
“Australian writers, musicians, artists and journalists must retain ownership and control of their work. Our laws will spell that out, plain as day ... anything less is theft"
We, the governed, did not consent to mass surveillance. Civil disobedience is morally justified. The technocratic authoritarians can flock right off with their “license plate readers.” We know this isn’t about our safety. It’s about control. We see you.
Per my local police department, Flock charges approximately $3000/year per camera.
So American taxpayers are spending $349,671,000 per year to be constantly monitored. Most Americans are unaware this is happening.

Tucker Carlson and Ben Jordan discussing how it was discovered that Flock employees had requested access to video feeds of children at a day care center over 1,000 times. All grown men. None were fired.
summer time !! can’t eat anything fresh because it’s all full of parasites. can’t go for a drive without being tracked by the international surveillance devices. can’t critique the government without being placed on a watchlist. so fun!
