Judge Juan Merchan has been assigned to 3 different Donald Trump-related cases: (1) Trump Organization Tax Case, (2) Steve Bannon case and (3) Stormy Daniels ‘hush money’ case. There are 107 Criminal Court Judges in NYC. Judges are “randomly” assigned.

Let’s just assume there are 50 Judges on active case rotation. The odds of Merchan being “randomly” assigned to all three is 1/125,000 or a 0.00008% chance 🤔

@bennyjohnson The explanation they’ll give is they assign Judges to “similar” or “related” cases because they’re “familiar” with the “facts.” I’d argue that’s an even bigger reason for Merchan to recuse himself. That “familiarity” has clearly transformed into a bias against Trump.
