“Would it not be better to be dead than to have this horrible fear that Aslan has come and is not like the Aslan we have believed in and longed for? It is as if the sun rose one day and were a black sun."

If you were snookered by (1) Y2K predictions, (2) peak oil, (3) climate catastrophe, (4) the rolling barrage of lies/absurd model predictions around COVID, the lockdowns, and shut-up-and-take-the-jab, is it maybe possible your belief filter needs some fine tuning?
It’s an unspeakable tragedy that my generation grew up thinking it was a bad idea to have children.
We were told the earth was overcrowded.
We were told the world was full of too much sorrow. Why bring someone into that?
We were told to have fun and wait.
All lies.
I try to keep an open mind about new ideas and opinions, but this take on parents and children is the dumbest thing I’ve heard in a long time. Douthat’s response is perfect:
"The majority point of view—held by major institutions like the Census Bureau, the United Nations—is that the United States probably won’t face population decline until the 2080s, or even beyond 2100.
That forecast is far too optimistic. The more accurate projection, which I outlined in a recent report for @FamStudies, sees the American population beginning to shrink in the 2050s." @lymanstoneky https://t.co/S92fmLEaUz
You can’t disciple an unbeliever.
“Since unbelievers are dead in their sin, seduced by the world and enslaved by Satan, what would you disciple them in? Would you teach them to be moral? To be a good person? Would you encourage them to be fair, to be a better citizen, a better father or mother? There is a place for all this.
But these qualities, albeit worthy qualities to possess, are not what constitute Christian discipleship. Without a changed heart, a sinner remains separated from God and destined for a Christless eternity. Before people can be discipled, they must be saved and transformed by the Holy Spirit. We must evangelize the lost and disciple the saved.”

@TheRobertBshow Exactly! We normalized an industrial model and forgot that education has always been about formation. Recovering the central role of the family is really about recovering the proper end of education in wisdom and virtue building.
@JoshuaBarzon I agree! But I would classify it as a sub discipline to “Home Economics” reinforcing the idea that households are economies, with order and structure that, when rightly ordered, bring health and wealth for generations.
Agreed. The Founders understood a free press as a guardian of truth and a check on power. Freedom exists for truth, not from truth. Liberty is ordered and codified by the Consitution toward the pursuit of what is good and just. Recovering that vision would strengthen both our press and our republic!
