Just celebrated my 25 year wedding anniversary. I have heard investors talk about the “beer test” when investing in a company. “Would I want to have a beer with this founder”. People want to do business with people they like and connect with.
Yet- most people don’t put that same requirement on their life partners. Could I happily spend the rest of my life with this person? But you can’t just say it/think it. You have to invest and do the hard work to preserve and protect the love you are creating so it can grow and create roots that will keep the “forever” you are building from toppling.
@BigBernard1990@sweatystartup LOL! We made a heavy pivot into business advisory, business brokering and business acquisition about 3 years ago. We now manage or own several companies worth over $10m in enterprise value, $7M+ in gross revenue and and nearly $2m net profit.
@boardyai Thanks Boardy. That was a fast and furious trip so I didnt have time for anything, but I will definitely take you up on that intro. I am in NYC often and can connect with them next time.
I'm heading to New York next week to speak at #ASE26 🗽

People are saying Alex Karp @PalantirTech had a breakdown here, but I listened to it multiple times and hear NO LIES! Funny how the narrative changes when the smartest man in almost every room he is in, starts saying things the “powers that be” don’t want to people to hear!
Great post! I love to see people waking up to the reality that real wealth is created though business ownership, then real estate, then stocks. Here is a great chart that shows how the wealthy hold assets. After Ben sends you his framework, contact us @AthariAdvisors and we will help you find the best business to acquire.
Just read a fantastic article on @dollarsanddata new book (The Wealth Ladder). His data continues to show, ““The poor own cars, the middle class own homes, and the rich own businesses.”
Can’t wait to read the entire book.

I bought my first Rolex in 2010 and absolutely love it. I bought it used and got it for a great price. My oldest son is 22 and he wore it from proms, graduation, and when we go on family trips. I bought a presidential (used) when I made my first mil. My kids know that I worked hard and waited until I had “earned” the watches instead of buying them when I could “afford” it. I KNOW they will appreciate and wear the watches when they are passed down to them. Because they understand the value of the watch and the work that went into getting them.
Buy the watch!
It’s official!!! 22 years of peer-reviewed studies on the effects of spanking children were researched by a team of scientists and the results are in.
Science has finally proven what every Gen X child knew growing up… Spankings have zero benefit!
The results will shock you…
As a parent of 2 boys (22 & 16), we stopped spanking them when they were between 8-9. Even then it was usually only a few swats on the leg with a hand. But I was spanked with a belt until I was 13 or 14 growing up and it definitely traumatized me.
I absolutely love this. I manage a business advisory firm @AthariAdvisors and we help people buy, build and sell companies. The number of “searchers” I meet that have been searching for the perfect business to by for 12-24 months is insane. When you buy a business, you are buying a headache. The question is how well you can handle/manage it.
Culturally, buying a small business is now squarely in the same category as flipping houses, multi-level marketing, and crypto. Portrayed as a secret shortcut that will make you rich because you're smart enough to know it.
If you're serious about buying a small business, you need to ask yourself why is there an opportunity to make millions with little money or experience? What does that mean I am actually getting paid for? And why is buying a small business kind of like buying an 18th century cargo ship? (1/x)
