After rolling through the regular-season schedule with a 16-2 record, @AlabamaMBB continued its dominance as @wimpsanderson1 won his second SEC Tournament in six years.
Behind SEC Player of the Year and SEC Tournament MVP Derrick McKey, the Crimson Tide opened with a 68-60 victory over Tennessee followed by eliminating Auburn 87-68.
LSU coach Dale Brown refused to sleep after his team’s quarterfinal and semifinal wins trying to prove to his players fatigue existed only in the mind. However, after falling to Alabama 69-62 in the championship game Brown admitted, “I could have stayed up a week and we wouldn't have beaten Alabama."
When the media asked Sanderson if he had talked to Brown after the championship game, Sanderson replied, “(Brown) said he was not sleeping at all the entire week. I went down to talk to him, but he was asleep on the bench.”
