Government of Canada Announces More Funding to Build Wildfire Fighting Capacity and Enhance Training Best Practices.

The Govt. of Canada will commit $800K to fund our RTI program in the coming year. This support is critical to training structural fire fighters to respond safely to the growing threat of wildfires – and when fire fighters are safe, those we took an oath to protect are safe.
Today I met with the @IAFFofficial to announce $800k to support them as they fight more severe and frequent wildfires.
We will continue to invest in the safety and success of Canada’s world-class firefighters, on the front lines of the climate crisis.
The BCPFFA appreciates that the PFAS issue of fire fighter safety is being raised through this private members bill. We will continue to advocate and work with the Province to safeguard our fire fighters from dangerous forever chemicals. @IAFFCanada
