This team has a weird, severe case of the yips.
Between Abreu throwing 93mph for seemingly no reason, and having zero control.
Imai just not even knowing how to throw a baseball anymore.
The hell is going on with the pitching.
How is it not obvious something is wrong with Abreus arm. I knew it a month ago when he was hitting 94. Now the guy is hitting 91.
It's either the worst case of the yips in history, or he's injured. The fact the staff keeps throwing him is wild
I dk how you fix it, but I hate that you're out bc you pop off the bag for a split second.
Maybe make it a rule like first base where you're only out if you go past, or round the base? The runner is safe, and beat the throw, so being punished that way sucks
I'm putting that on the 3rd base coach. The rule is don't make the 1st or 3rd out at home. Diaz had a good read, and kwan has a bad arm....you HAVE to send Diaz there.
Wort case is Diaz is out, and you have matthews still in scoring position at 2nd.
@jakedc6 I'd have to agree and say it carries over to the pitchers too. I'll never understand how minor leaguers aren't ready to go 150 IP when they are called up. I dc if it has to be an offseason thing, but they should be MLB ready.
Man, Weiss loses the ability to throw strikes at the most random times.
He's got the tools to be pretty good, but he'll just lose all feel for his pitches randomly at any moment. He's the king of 2 outs, no one on, and walking the guy on 4 pitches
Hey Weiss, when you're up in the count lets try to not throw pitches right down the middle. Prob best to see if you can get them to chase.
Especially when it's their best hitter
I'm not expecting a ton from McCullers, but I expect to see velo back to normal, and to have better control. If he doesn't have that it'll be concerning
Split 4 game series. Win the 3 games series. That's all ya want in the regular season. It wasn't pretty, but in a full season it never will be.
On to the next series.
With a 3 run lead you can't dance around the guys who are ahead of Trout, and the dude who took you deep last night.
If Abreu wants to get paid he's got to cut this shit out
