Why is Alex Jones spewing conspiracy theory nonsense about ripple:native today?

No, the government is not going to seize your XRP or require that you turn it over to the government.

If the U.S. forced citizens to hand their ripple:native over, they'd damage confidence in the ecosystem on a global scale.

People living in other countries outside of the United States would sell once they realize that investors in the largest capital market in the world can no longer legally participate in ecosystem. So that would be very destructive and not help the U.S. government.

Such an occurrence would immediately cut off the world's largest pool of retail and institutional capital from the network. There would be panic selling, crashing the token's value and destroying the global liquidity the network needs to function.

If a government's goal were to weaponize a digital asset for cross-border settlement, destroying its global market value via forced confiscation would completely defeat the purpose.

There's also obviously no political will to make something like this happen, and congress would need to pass a law to make this happen. So... nope!

The 1933 gold confiscation occurred because the U.S. dollar was legally tied to a strict gold standard.

Today, the U.S. government operates a fiat currency system and controls the money supply digitally through interest rates and quantitative easing.

It has no structural or monetary requirement to back its currency with digital assets like XRP.

The dollar will never be backed by XRP, but if you think XRP might be seized, then you'd have to believe that it would be.

None of what Alex is saying about ripple:native makes sense. Frankly we already had enough conspiracy theory bullshit in the ripple:native community without Alex Jones adding to the pile.

As someone who has been a member of the ripple:native community for nearly a decade now, I find this nonsense rather irritating. We do not need it.

On the clip he played on the stream, the US government can't seize XRP you hold in self custody. No one can as long as only you hold your keys, the US can't censor transactions either on the XRPL.

XRP is for everyone ❤️💯. There's no such thing as "it's a bank asset and you can't own it".

It's open source software and the value is backed by the social consensus of us people.

28th June 2026 has already been confirmed by SWIFT for their blockchain and retail payments framework rollout, with 25+ banks expected live by the end of June. (Many confirmed to be working with Ripple)

The big question is whether XRP Ledger interoperability, liquidity or settlement rails get officially mentioned as part of the next phase.

SWIFT has already openly discussed interoperability between tokenized assets, stablecoins and blockchain networks, while building their shared ledger infrastructure around 24/7 cross-border settlement.

Weekend could get very interesting.
